- John's journey in the oil and gas industry began at Total Nigeria PLC Koko lubricating plant in 1989 as a lubricant engineer. He then progressed to Chevron Nigeria's Warri Escravos Terminal in 1992, where he focused on pipeline corrosion and integrity assessment. In 1993, John joined Mobil Producing Nigeria as a Facility and Production Engineer and later as a Functional Engineering Supervisor. During his tenure, he successfully led a team responsible for supporting production operations integrity projects and intervention projects, including the upgrade and revamp of crude oil storage, and settling tanks. His groundbreaking research on crude oil emulsion earned him the prestigious "On the Spot Award" for excellence in 1993.
- Continuing his career at ExxonMobil, John took on the role of Project Manager from 2008 to 2019, overseeing several high-value projects with diverse scopes. These projects included existing facilities modifications, power generation, pipeline design and construction, and new oil field production platform and facilities development.
